A Message from the President

It’s with great pride that I welcome you to a company that has been my life for as long as I can remember.   Having been instilled at an early age with the philosophy that “ If something needs to be done, you just do it”, my earliest memories of working at Pacific Salmon as a teenager have me working the summers and weekends cutting fish, loading containers and filling in on the production line wherever needed.  Driving forklifts, working in refrigeration, fishing the summers on the boats, there was no part of this business I didn’t want to learn and I owe a debt of gratitude to those in the industry who’ve guided me and helped our company along the way.

For these reasons I believe strongly in the importance of creating a company culture that values not only hard work, but also teamwork, openness, inclusiveness, and leveraging the shared knowledge of all our employees – from line worker to executive.

Who we are and what we do

Our mission is to create new products, pursue innovative technologies, and apply continual improvements and efficiencies in order to ensure the sustainable use of the world’s ocean resources.

Our company was incorporated in 1974 on its current 5 acre site in Surrey, British Columbia to service the needs of BC’s fishing industry and has grown to be recognized as one of Surrey, B.C’s largest employers. Our wholly-owned processing and division, doing business as Scanner Enterprises has focused on key BC caught species such as wild salmon, hake, herring, shrimp, and tuna. In peak periods, we process up to 1 million lbs of herring and 250,000 lbs of salmon per day. Together with our 8 million lb on-site cold storage, we offer a one-stop solution for our customer’s processing and storage requirements. In addition to our processing operations, for over 30 years, Pacific Salmon Industries has imported a wide variety of sustainable and socially responsibly produced seafood products from around the globe.

At Pacific Salmon Industries, we believe our people are one of our greatest strengths. We are very proud of the fact that 20% of our employees have been with us for more than 20 years. Many have been with us over 25 years. Thank you for visiting our site. We look forward to being of service to you soon.
